ScoreKeeper Duties
Here are some basic instructions for ScoreKeepers / TimeKeepers
TimeKeeper:
- The game is divided into two(2) 25-minute halves
- Start the clock with the Umpire's Whistle for the Draw (face-off) to begin each half
- Allow the clock to RUN except for the following:
- When the Umpire signals a TIME-OUT by crossing their arms over the head.
- Stop the clock when this happens.
- Restart the clock when play restarts with the Umpire's whistle.
- Last two(2) minutes of the game (2nd half), STOP-TIME comes into play.
- The clock is stopped on the Umpire's whistle.
- The clock is started on the Umpire's whistle.
- This means, is there is a goal within the last two(2) minutes, the clock is stopped with the goal, and started with the whistle on the Draw.
- Tell the Umpire when there is two(2) minutes left in the half.
- TimeKeeper should walk out onto the field with 2-minutes left
- TimeKeepr announces when there is 1-minute left
- TimeKeeper ammounces when there is 30-seconds left on the clock
- TimeKeeper calls our last 10 seconds.
- TimeKeeper sounds the HORN on 0 seconds.
- Teams recieve a 5-minute break between halves.
- Sound the HORN when there is one(1) minute left before second half begins.
- Any player who recieves a Yellow Card will be excluded from play for three(3) minutes of RUNNING game time.
- Assist the Scorekeeper by giving them the time reading at the penalty to mark in the socrebook.
- If less than 3-minutes remain in the period, the player's penalty continues into the next half (or overtime play).
- If possible, help the socrekeeper and notify the coach of the penalized player when her time exclusion is up.
ScoreKeeper
- Prior to the start of the game, ensure all players are recorded on the game sheet.
- Draw a line through any player that is absent
- Ensure the goalie is indicated on the scoresheet.
- Ensure a jersey number is recorded for each player.
- There is no jersey with the number 0
- Have the coaches sign the game sheet before the beginning of the game.
- Yellow Card Penalties
- Any player whos recieves a Yellow Card will be excluded from play for 3-minutes of running game time.
- Record the half (Per), the time of the infraction (Time), Team, Player # (Plyr), Infraction (if possible), the penalty time (Min).
- Record which Team is wearing Blue and which Team is wearing White at the top of each scoresheet.
- Record Goals as follows:
- Per (1st half or 2nd half)
- Time (as displayed on the Time Clock - ask the TimeKeeper)
- Team: Record "B" for the team wearing the Blue Jersey, and "W" for the team wearing the White Jersey.
- For Scorer, record the jersey number of the player that scored (as relayed by the Umpire)
- For 1A and 2A, record the jersy number(s) of the player(s) that assisted with the goal (as relayed by the Umpire)
- Ignore the column "Type".
- Current Score:
- It is helpful to keep a running tally of the current score some where on the game sheet.
- Have the Officals/Umpires sign the game sheet at the end of the game.
